Situated a stones throw from Ilfracombe’s picturesque harbour and only a short walk from the South West Coast path the Ship & Pilot is a popular choice for, walkers, holiday makers and locals alike. We are a family friendly, dog friendly pub serving food and drink where you will always receive a warm welcome.
Fancy a drink?
We serve some of St Austell brewery’s award-winning range of cask ales and draught beers including many of the South West’s most loved brews: Tribute, Proper Job and our own bitter aptly named ‘Ship’s Pilot’. Plus we are the only bar in Ilfracombe to serve the legendary Cornish Rattler cider. We also stock a wide range of fine wines, spirits and soft drinks.
Or a bite to eat?
Join us for a light bite, or an evening meal. We have something to suit everybody! Our menu includes local quality produce cooked fresh to order. Whether you fancy a curry, a burger, or a sea food platter you’ll find something to appeal to the entire family, even the fussiest of eaters!
groups & parties
The Ship & Pilot is a great destination for families, groups and parties. So, whether you’re looking for a place for your club or society to drink and socialise, or you would like to hire us out for a party, The Ship & Pilot should be your first port of call.
Keeping skittles alive
The traditional pub game of skittles is under threat of extinction as alleys shut in many pubs. The Ship & Pilot is helping to keep the sport alive in Ilfracombe with regular matches hosted during the week throughout the year.
come and join us
So, whether you’re looking to grab a quick pint with a friend, a catch up over coffee or even a delicious meal with family or friends, The Ship & Pilot is a great venue to visit.
The Ship & Pilot has been a family run pub since the 1960’s, but the building is known to be as old as the 1700’s. Our walls are adorned with historical photos of the local area historical maritime artefacts.
